Christmas is closing in on us with the speed of a jet-fuelled sleigh. As always, there is so much to do that it can be difficult to know where to start.

To help you ease the load, we’ve done the research and found the top 10 places in Singapore to get Christmas dinners and buffets this year.

There’s still the presents, wrapping and decorating to go, but at least the food is now sorted.

1. Senso Ristorante & Bar

The exquisite Senso Ristorante is a truly special place to spend time with your loved ones over the Christmas period. The authentic Italian fine-dining restaurant puts on annual Christmas delights using the freshest seasonal ingredients. Last year, the Christmas set lunch ($38 for a two-course meal or $44 for a three-course meal) featured smoked salmon, baby beetroot salad, taglierini with winter black truffle, Australian beef tenderloin, braised turkey breast, panettone and more. On the day itself, dinners were treated to a Christmas Day brunch ($138 per person) which included an endless flow of premium Ca’del Bosco Franciacorta sparkling wine — a Christmas gift we’d all love to receive.

2. New Ubin Seafood

If you’re in Singapore for Christmas then an authentic Singaporean experience is a must. New Ubin Seafood captures the identity of the cuisine magnificently, serving national dishes from its family-run restaurant. Last year’s Christmas offering included an indulgent festive brunch buffet ($38.80) which had more than 50 dishes on offer. Their delicious delights included punggol-style mee goreng and mutton curry — a flavour-filled festive fiesta to kick-off the celebrations.

3. InterContinental Singapore’s Ash & Elm

Fans of the festive period will instantly be drawn to Ash & Elm for their Christmas meal. The name itself conjures images of twinkling baubles and tinsel-covered trees in the mind’s eye. And the European restaurant is happy to embrace that. Over the Christmas period last year, it served festive meals throughout December which came with unlimited Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne ($168). Food on offer included Christmas favourites such as braised beef cheek with a mulled wine sauce and roasted turkey with chestnuts.

4. Marriott Café

Nestled within the 5-star Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is the equally luxurious Marriott Café. Throughout the rest of the year you can expect world-class buffets, but over Christmas the team make it extra special. The Orchard Road restaurant pulled out all the stops last year with festive buffets running throughout December. On offer were Christmas treats including roast turkey with fried fruits and chestnut bread stuffing. Those looking for local delicacies were not disappointed with Asian delights such as chili crab also on offer.

5. Shangri-La Singapore

The world-famous Shangri-La should be on everyone’s wish list this Christmas. The 15-acre luxury resort near Orchard Road has 11 restaurants and bars to choose from (and spa facilities when it all gets a bit too much). Last year, lucky diners could enjoy traditional turkey at The Line’s theatre kitchen (from $68) or celebrate with a high tea buffet at the Rose Veranda (from $56).

6. Baba Chews Bar & Eatery

Christmas is a wonderful mix of modern delights and tradition, making Baba Chews the perfect place for a festive feast. The Katong eatery serves up local cuisines with a modern flare producing truly wonderful dishes. Last year they went all-out over the festive period. For Christmas Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve they served a buffet selection of cold cuts, cured meats and sweets ($48). Then throughout the holiday they held weekend brunches which included traditional (yet exquisite) fare from the Strait of Malacca ($38).

7. Prego at Fairmont Singapore

If there’s one nation that does communal dining better than anyone else it’s probably Italy. And if Christmas is about one thing, it’s sharing delicious food with your loved ones. Prego at Fairmont hotel captures that spirit within its rustic Italian Trattoria-style setting. Last Christmas, their festive brunch buffet ($49) included baked whole scallops and whole grilled Maine lobster — a truly indulgent treat worthy of Christmas Day. Those looking to go full-throttle could add free-flow Moët & Chandon Imperial to their brunch ($148).

8. Open Farm Community

If you want to do a little good this Christmas then dining at Open Farm Community would be a great place to start. The innovative eatery is looking to promote urban farming while boosting our understanding and respect for food. Many of the ingredients are sourced straight from the garden, giving an unrivalled freshness. Last Christmas, the eco-friendly restaurant served a seven-course menu ($168) with items such as roasted turkey roulade stuffed with mushroom marmalade on offer.

If you’re looking for a spot to search for Santa as he cruises the night sky, then Monti might be your place. The marina-based restaurant offers spectacular 360-degree views of the city’s skyline and a perfect vantage point for some star-gazing. Last year, they offered a Christmas jazz brunch ($110) which included meats, cheeses and charcuterie. As if the spectacular food and drink wasn’t enough, Monti also treated their guests to a free cruise rise around Marina Bay — a truly memorable experience.

Get a Rudolph-eye view of the city at the aptly-named Stellar, Singapore’s highest restaurant. The progressive Australian eatery not only boasts world-beating sights but also a rooftop bar and great cocktails. As a party-place, you won’t be surprised to hear the festive period is big at Stellar. Last year, they offered a Christmas Day brunch buffet ($140) which included an opulent mix of seafood, foie gras, wagyu short ribs and more.
